Natural Breaks has just been granted charitable status which is a FANTASTIC achievement! This means that we can now fund raise and apply for funding that we couldn’t access before. This funding can be used to do things for the people we support that we couldn’t do in the past. There is going to be lots of exciting things happening in the future!
For 24 years we were a not-for-profit organisation which has been providing support services to people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and acquired brain injuries (ABI), in the North West of England
We are approved providers in:
- Cheshire West

Here is a timeline of our biggest achievements to date.
1991 - We began as a pilot project; offering regular support services to 9 individuals, from 8 families across Liverpool. Things went so well that we were awarded additional funding to extend our service, and by 1995 we were supporting more than 50 people.
1996 - We started our first Supported Living Service, to enable 2 men living in a long-stay hospital to return to their home town.
2001 - Natural Breaks celebrated its 10th Birthday, and we started the 'Out & About' Project; supporting thirty people from families in South Liverpool.
2002 – We worked with Paradigm and a number of other organisations to set up the REACH standards which organisations who provide supported living. They are recognised as a set of standards to aspire to and Natural Breaks were involved in setting these standards and they are embedded in everything we do.
2007 - Natural Breaks started the Holi-Daze project, to provide opportunities and empowerment for students with learning disabilities, during holiday periods.
2009 - Involved in the production of the ‘All Together Now’ paper about Collectively figuring how to develop alternatives to paid support
2011 - We began our first Multiple and Complex Health Needs services. We began working closely with Alder Hey Hospital and Sefton Health Service, to develop services for young people in their transition into adulthood. Our team grew in size and in capability, as we supported more people than ever before. We celebrated our 20th Birthday
2013 – we became preferred providers for Chester and Cheshire West
2016 - Natural Breaks achieved charitable status and we moved to our new office at the Millennium Resource Centre in Vauxhall.
