Natural Breaks would like to say a massive “THANK YOU” to Liverpool Watersports Centre and Local Solutions for inviting us along to the launch of their brand new Wheelyboat. The Wheelyboat is a fabulous addition to the Watersports Centre.  It is a fully accessible power boat that people can use to sail on and also learn how to operate.  The Wheelyboat has been named “Sir Bert Massie”.  Sir Bert Massie was a trustee of Local Solutions and a disability rights campaigner.  Local Solutions and The Wheelyboat Trust have been working in partnership to raise money for the boat and give people with disabilities the opportunity to be fully involved with the activities that go on at the Watersports Centre.

The day began with speeches from Steve Hawkins CEO of Local Solutions, Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside Mr Mark Blundell, Councillor Pam Thomas and Sir Bert Massie’s wife, Lady Maureen Massie.  Then people were given the opportunity to have a go on the Wheelyboat around the docks – it was awesome! “Wicked fast” doesn’t do justice to how fast it travels!!

We look forward to making some awesome memories for people we support very soon!
