Natural Breaks were really lucky to be part of the Liverpool Community Spirit “Taste of Life” Course which was 8 sessions where people got to taste, experience and learn about different cultures.  After the 8 sessions people on the course agreed to meet up for a 3 month review and what a review it was. 

Steven, Dave, Alan, Andy, Diane, Lesley, Tom and Peter all went along to the LCS offices and how welcoming and hospitable everyone was.  Thank you to Alison, Matthew and Hinnah and all of the volunteers who made our day so amazing.  We arrived and were greeted by everyone and we all had a lovely cup of tea and catch up.  Matthew then treated us all to a trip to the top of the Anglican Cathedral, the views were spectacular and it was a real treat to look out over our beautiful City.  It was also a big challenge for some people, Steven was very nervous, but with lots of encouragement and support from his friends he made it to the top and got to enjoy the amazing sights.  Tom said “I love coming up here!” 

When we went back to the LCS offices Alison, Cindy and Ally had prepared for us all the most amazing lunch we had in the garden, scouse with red cabbage, homemade wheaten bread and dandelion and burdock with Wet Nelly and Custard for dessert, it was heavenly.  Everyone thanked Alison and the team for such a gorgeous lunch. 

The treats did not stop there!  The surprise finale for the day was an audience with Jimmy Coburn who plays with The Cavern Club Beatles every Friday and Saturday night.  It is fair to say he was absolutely amazing and everyone was blown away.  Jimmy told us that he has just returned from the USA with the Cavern Club Beatles where they had been involved in launching a Cavern Club aboard a Cruise Ship which had been recreated on board – this was the 3^rd of its kind and Jimmy and the other Cavern Club Beatles had an absolutely awesome time.  Jimmy sang:

We all thoroughly enjoyed listening to Jimmy and singing along, it was a real treat from LCS for us all and we would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
