Natural Breaks always holds a coffee morning to raise money for MacMillanMacMillan is close to all of our hearts, people we support, staff, families and friends of Natural Breaks.  We understand how cancer can affect peoples whole lives and we understand that the most important thing is to treat people as individuals, not patients.  The work that the MacMillan Nurses do is amazing and our annual coffee morning is the least we can do to support their good work.

This year we held a joint event with:

It was a fantastic day, the room was dressed beautifully in MacMillan colours and we were lucky enough to have the students from Global Make Up Academy along doing free hair, nails and make up for people.  We were also extremely lucky to have Asda in the Community from both Bootle and Hunts Cross donate tea, coffee, sugar, juice, milk and cakes for the event – thank you so, so much.

Our very own Karen Moore worked so hard on the day selling raffle tickets, helping with the tombola and welcoming everyone.  Karen is such an amazing asset to Natural Breaks and supports every event, she really is one of our Natural Breaks stars.

We cannot thank the people we support and staff enough who came along and bought cakes, raffle tickets and made the day so special.  We also had old staff come along, even when you retire your still a part of the Natural Breaks family.

Gordon said “I love going on facebook and seeing all the things people are doing, Natural Breaks has always done great work but I don’t think we told people enough.  It is good seeing so much going on.”

Jan Swan also popped in on the day and was delighted to catch up with everyone and is looking forward to the Grand Charity Show on Thursday 25th October at St Georges Club in Maghull, for tickets call 0151 207 9120.

We also had some fantastic raffle prizes donated by lots of people.  Angela Preston donated tickets to her play ‘A Time to Leave’ at the Capstone Theatre.  Jason from Access North West Radio donated a set of first edition books as well as a lovely bottle of champagne and prosecco that were part of the drinks hampers that proved very popular!  The VNC had sourced a LFC tour. The Global Make Up Academy had donated 2 free make overs and 2 free cut and blows.  Alt Valley Community Trust donated a free family pass to Croxteth Park Farm and we at Natural Breaks had put together a luxury hamper of wine, chocolates and perfume.

We raised £300.23 on the day with more money being donated by friends still coming in.

Thank you everyone for our support.
