This year has been a great year for England in sports – our Lioness’s making the Football World Cup Semi Finals, England winning the Cricket and now we have the Netball World Cup being held right here in our very own city.

Natural Breaks were really lucky to secure some tickets to go and see Fiji v Singapore and Sri Lanka v Samoa earlier in the week at the M & S Bank Arena and it was superb!

The atmosphere was incredible and the players were amazing!  We got to see the Sri Lanka Goal Shooter Tharjini Sivalingam who is the tournaments tallest player at 6’10” and oldest player at 40 in action.  She rarely misses a shot and each time she scored we cheered – we also cheered each time the Samoan Goal Keeper  Lenora Misa managed to intercept the ball as she did a fantastic job at defending against someone so tall!  It is a real treat to see a sport being played to such a high standard – the speed and accuracy of all of the women was just out of this world!

The staff at the arena were really helpful and friendly and we all had a bit of a soft spot for Jude the Liverbird who is the mascot of the Netball.

Tom and Karen are true Natural Breaker’s and really up for going to new places, trying new things and were out of their homes by 8am to get to the Arena in time and were really supportive cheering on the teams.  This was probably our only chance to watch the Netball World Cup in Liverpool and it was an amazing day that we will never forget.

Good luck to England and well done to all of the teams who have taken part.  We’ve really enjoyed being a part of it!
