Winnie loves going away and one of her favourites places to visit is Blackpool.  Winnie and her team stayed for one night at The Grand Hotel – this used to be the Hilton.

Winnie arrived at 12 noon on Tuesday and the first thing she wanted to do was to go shopping in the town centre.  Winnie loves shopping and she picked herself some lovely new clothes, a purse and some gorgeous sunglasses.  Winnie then went to check in to the hotel and see her room so she knew where she would be staying that evening.

We then for a walk along the sea front and stopped to sit outside a little pub for a drink in the sunshine and Winnie chose where she wanted to go for her dinner.  Winnie decided to go for a Chinese Buffet and loved every second of it. After that we all went to Coral Island where Winnie loved playing on the 2p slot machines.  We finished the night off in a little cabaret bar where Winnie enjoyed a tasty mocktail.

After a lovely cooked breakfast we had one more trip around Blackpool and stopped for some cookies from Millie’s Cookie Stall and some fresh hot doughnuts.

Winnie is always a little bit sad when it is time to come home but I’m sure we will be back again soon - it really was a lovely little break.

Clair said “Supporting people to go on holiday is hard work – but we did have a lovely time and it is really rewarding for me personally to see how much pleasure Winnie gets from being somewhere she loves, doing the things she enjoys.  We all deserve a holiday and I’m glad I could be a part of Winnie’s and hope she has as great memories of it as I do.”

Diane CEO of Natural Breaks said “This is another example of our staff going the extra mile to support people to do the things in life that they love.  I really do look forward to hearing about people’s holidays, seeing photos and finding out what people have been doing and also how our staff feel enabling people do all of these things.”
