My name is Diane and I’ve been in supported living with Natural Breaks for 8 months now. I love living with my friends and I get on really well with Jacqui.

My support worker Brian helped me to find me my job at British Heart Foundation and I am loving it! I like the people I work with. I love meeting the customers and my job is to keep the shop looking “Shop Standard”. I have to make sure that the shop is always tidy and I go around zipping up clothes, hanging things up neatly, straightening the books and DVD’s on the shelves and keeping the shop area clear.

I work from 12 to 3 o’clock and I work straight through. I get the bus to town and then I go for my lunch – today I went to Burger King. I’ve got my own locker and I have to keep my key safe so before I start work I put my handbag and coat safely in my locker and say hello to the girls upstairs who are steaming all the clothes. I come downstairs and I help Kirsty to make sure the shop is tidy. I really enjoying coming to work and I’ve told Kirsty all of my holidays so that she knows when I won’t be here. Kirsty said “Diane is doing amazing and settling in really well.”

It is great to volunteer in the shop I love coming to work!
