This year, Natural Breaks are taking part in the Liverpool Shine Night Walk 2025 on Friday 5^th September, with Cancer Research.

 

Our teams and people we support will be lacing up their trainers and painting their faces neon before taking on the 10K course together!

We’ll be raising funds for Cancer Research and Natural Breaks, all while having fun. The money raised for Cancer Research will help fund life-saving research and funds raised for Natural Breaks will go towards the Take a Break Project. 

The Take a Break Project enables people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury and complex health needs to enjoy an accessible, socially inclusive and affordable holiday, short break or social activity - providing much needed respite to families and carers and promotes opportunities for growth in independence and development. 

Our project mission is to support people with disabilities and their loved ones to access activities and breaks, that often prove impossible due to range of barriers including additional costs and support hours, where they can create life-long memories, enhance wellbeing and give them pleasure – just like everyone else.

 

In 2024, the Take a Break Project had a 27% increase of people accessing its services, highlighting the ever-growing demand and need especially as the cost of living crisis continues.
