“Over recent years, we have saw a steady increase to cashless systems across the UK.

In shops, cafes, schools and even supermarkets.

A more recent example would be Tesco’s updated change that saw over 40 of their superstore cafes only accepting payment by card or contactless.

Many retailers and cafes are beginning to refuse cash as a cost cutting measure as it is more expensive for them to handle.

However, what this initiative does is isolate individuals and prevents them from interacting with their local communities.

Many people we support at Natural Breaks rely on cash. A card only system takes away their independence.

Indeed companies need to make a profit but what use is that if you turn your customers away?

Accepting cash enables individuals to be part of their local communities, stay independent and do the things they want to

At Natural Breaks, we’re always looking at innovative ways to support people to manage their money and be as independent as possible”.
