Natural Breaks joined forces with Merseyside Police and other Liverpool-based organisations on 3rd December, International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event has been running for several years with the mission to raise disability awareness and champion those within the Merseyside Police force who have made an impact.

Alongside other organisations operating in Merseyside, Natural Breaks spoke with officers and staff about its work.

Michael and Jackie, Natural Breaks Ltd

Jackie and Michael, both supported by Natural Breaks, explained the mission of Natural Breaks and got involved with discussions on the day about how things can change to become more accessible for disabled people.

Speaking of the day, Jackie said:

“This has been really important for not only me, but Natural Breaks. It has helped us be part of the conversation, get our name out there and help”.

Thanks to the event, Natural Breaks met local charitable organisations such as Daisy Inclusive UK and had the opportunity to connect as well as share resources, all with the same mission of helping disabled and vulnerable people.

“Our partnership working with Merseyside Police for this event is something we’re really proud to have been part of. Natural Breaks are all about people and we are passionate about making a difference, breaking barriers to enable individuals to lead an independent life. This event has given us space to create genuine connections, spread awareness of our work and be part of important conversations” said Social & Learning Coordinator, Sami Hayes-Ellis.
