At the start of 2025, Anthony secured a part-time voluntary role at The Marina. Within the role, Anthony’s main responsibilities are stacking shelves, replenishing stock, dealing with customer inquiries and helping customers make purchases. 

 

Over the past several months, Anthony and his support team have worked together to source an employment opportunity that appeals to Anthony’s interests, aligns with his routine and puts reasonable adjustments in place to suit his needs, following conversations where Anthony has expressed a desire to work.

 

The Marina is a local pub that Anthony frequents with support and through this, has built friendships with a number of the regulars. After talking about his desire to find a part-time role to The Marina team, they offered Anthony the opportunity to join their sweet shop as a voluntary assistant.

 

The role has helped Anthony achieve his personal goals, leaving his home more often and finding a sense of purpose, whilst enabling him to expand his customer service skillset and become a pillar in the community.
